There is no law that allows a parent or student to opt out of participating in state tests, and there is no state procedure or form for nonparticipation. If a parent prohibits a child from participating in certain state tests, there may be consequences for the child, the child's teacher and the district, including consequences on the Ohio School Report Cards.
